Best Tactical Wallets of 2019I decided to write about the best tactical wallets after spending hours looking for the perfect one for myself. The tactical wallets come in different styles and offer a variety of features.

Furthermore, some of the best models on the market feature blades, bottle openers, money clips. One of the most practical features is the protection against wireless Identity theft.

We Found that the most popular tactical wallet manufacturers are Trayvax, Dango, Maverick and Multi Holsters.

1.Multi Holsters BMT 2.0 With Money Clip Minimalist Kydex Wallet

This model is very suitable for adventure-seekers and exploratory expedition members who carry a lot of gear. For them, space is very precious and this minimalist model does save a lot of it.

This tactical wallet with a money clip is made of a single piece of Kydex – Multi Holsters’ very special and top-secret synthetic material. This special material makes this tactical wallet lightweight and yet very durable. Small as it is, it is capable of holding up to eight cards.

The money clip on the reverse side is made of heat-treated spring steel with a black oxide finish. This model is available in eleven different colors and prints to match your specific style.

A Few Words About the Manufacturer

Headquartered in Michigan USA, Multi Holsters is best known for making tailored holsters for custom-made guns. All of their products, including the tactical wallet reviewed above, are made of superior quality materials, including Kydex®.

Multi Holsters products are trusted by professional hunters, explorers, adventurers and even special operations officers for their quality and reliability.

They have been frequently reviewed in specialized magazines like American Handgunner and on specialized sites like AmericanShootingJournal.com.

what we like

  • High quality, one-piece Kydex manufacturing
  • Minimalist design
  • Lightweight & slim
  • Very durable.
  • Heat-treated spring steel money clip with black oxide finish

what we dislike

  • Not very flexible
  • Some users find it a bit too thick

2.Gerber GDC Money Clip – The Best Tactical Wallet with Knife

There are many things to say about the advantages of having one of these blades on your wallet.

But the first thing that came to my mind when I found this product on Amazon was that the easily concealable blade that this model features can literally give you an edge in any pub or bar brawl or street wrangle.

Thinking about some more peaceful applications of this money clip with a blade, you can use it to do some basic wiring around the house.

Or slice some cheese for your date during a romantic picnic in the woods. In a nutshell, the blade comes in handy.

Money clips loomed to fashion with the development of mobile phone payments, which eliminated much of the need for bank card holding.

Still, the model that I am talking about can hold up to five bank cards, which is more than enough, I think. Why would anyone need more payment options, I wonder!?

Coming back to the blade, it is just under two inches long and it is made of fine quality stainless steel. For safe use, you should wrap your finger around the ring and then press your thumb against the thumb grip.

That way you’ve got a solid hold that won’t budge when you put a bit of power behind a cut. When you’re done using it, the blade snaps back into its sturdy and safe money clip retreat.

This Gerber GDC Money Clip with Fixed Blade Knife is made for ultimate versatility – you can carry it with you every day and use it wherever you may need its cutting and piercing power.

The blade’s finger slot with serrated thumb rest guarantees a secure grip, and it is made of titanium-coated steel.

About Gerber Gear

Gerber is a synonym of high-quality outdoor equipment. However, the focus of their production is blades of all sizes, purposes, and designs. Lightweight, versatile and super-durable, these are blades that you can trust with your life.

what we like

  • Practical and discreet
  • Compact and lightweight
  • Made of titanium-coated steel

what we dislike

  • When the clip is full, taking the knife out of the sheath is difficult

3.Dango T01 Tactical Bifold Wallet

This tactical wallet stands at the top of its class. For anyone who can afford it, this is the ultimate personal possession to take on an exploratory trip in the barren wilderness.

This wallet is not just for the outdoor enthusiast. Rather, it is the indispensable companion of long-haul truckers, oil rig workers and forest rangers, etc.

One of this model’s best features is the RFID blocking function, which keeps your credit and debit cards’ details absolutely secure. This kind of protection is one of the most important features to look for in a tactical wallet.

The Dango Multi-Tool features over fourteen different built-in functions – a saw blade, a paracord cutter, a nail plyer, a knife, and even a phone stand!

When not in use, the multi-function tool slides into the cavity where the cards sit. The Dango Multi-Tool is made of, heat-treated, corrosion-resistant stainless steel. If any part of this tactical wallet breaks down, including the steel chassis, you can always ask for a replacement.

A Word About Dango Products

Dango Products makes watches, wallets belts and accessories for the outdoor enthusiast. They are a relatively young company that emerged as a successful kick-starter in 2015.

Therefore, their products are of superior quality and feature some amazing features as well. Let’s wish them the best of luck!

what we like

  • Versatile tool with 14 different functions
  • Made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel
  • This wallet can hold up to 12 bank cards

what we dislike

  • Relatively high price

4.T02 Titanium Tactical Wallet 3-Pocket Bifold

The next pick on our list is another of Dango’s premium products – their T02 titanium bifold tactical wallet with three pockets. This is the higher modification of the T01 model, so the differences cannot be very significant.

Yet, the three pockets do create some more space and increase its overall storage ability. There is again the Dango Multi-Tool with 14 functions.  When engaged, the multi-tool can nest securely into the safety locks built into the wallet chassis, allowing for easy sawing, cutting and slashing.

The wallet is made of synthetic material that is 100% waterproof, and the RFID blocking function is also here.

What We Like

  • Wallet chassis with safety locks
  • RFID blocking function
  • 3 pockets for higher storage capacity

What We DisLike

  • This product’s quality comes at an equally high price

5.M1 MAVERICK BIFOLD WALLET – SPEC-OPS – 4 POCKET DTEX

Designed to serve the US military in their special operations around the globe, the M1 Maverick Spec-Ops edition is Dango’s first vertical model of tactical wallet. Its robust yet sleek design makes it perfect for the purposes of the task force operatives.

The M1 Spec-Ops model combines CNC Machined 6061 aerospace aluminum with Dango’s patented developed DTEX material – a fine mixture of an industrial “bullet-proof” chassis with a wallet skin that is resilient, flexible and water-resistant.

The chassis’ surface is ceramic and it is coated with Cerakote – a firearms industry-standard ceramic paint tough enough to withstand everything that Mother Nature can through at it.

The Dango Multi-Tool is also present on this model but, surprisingly, with only ten different functions, compared to the fourteen functions of the two models reviewed above.

The Multi-Tool features a seat-belt cutter that can save your life in case of a road accident. Another function that caught my eye while looking at this model is the chisel. The O2 oxygen wrench is also a rarity that cannot be found on just any model of tactical wallet.

The M1 Spec-Ops Bifold Pocket Model comes with the high-carbon, heat-treated, stainless-steel MT01 Clasp Multi-tool – a miniature multi-tool that is used as the bifold enclosure and features 5 additional functions.

This most practical of them is the flat and Phillips head screwdriver.

Dango is bragging about that this model can hold up to eighteen cards without the multi-tool and 16 cards with the multi-tool.

what we like

  • Card capacity of up to 16 cards
  • Mad of special DTEX material
  • 2 Stainless steel multi-tools
  • Lightweight and portable

what we dislike

  • The second multi-tool is two small and some of its functions overlap with that of the primary one

6.Apex Concealment Tactical Wallet 2

It is easy to review a product of which there is plenty of info. However, this product appears to be the Moby Dick of tactical wallets. Apparently, they used to sell their products via social networks such as Facebook.

From the scarce sources available online I could find it becomes clear that this particular model is made of Kydex and Melonite for superb durability.

On the same page where I found this tactical wallet, I also caught a glance of their -Banger Condom Case “Panty Dropper Edition”.

It looks like a heavy-duty condom case designed to protect your condoms from direct sunlight and heat, and also from anything that is sharp and capable of puncturing them. That’s what I call out-of-the-box thinking!

what we like

  • Supposed to be durable and practical

what we dislike

  • Scarce information about the model and manufacturer
  • Sell via Facebook, which does not build trust with the customer

8. 5.11 Tactical Wallet

The last product on our list isn’t exactly a tactical wallet per se. Rather, it is a tactical card case with a money clip. Made of durable 100% nylon, the Bifold Card Case by 5.11® has everything you may need in a wallet, but it is far more compact in size.

This model is Tactec System compatible, and its slim design and multiple card clots make it a practical alternative to your traditional wallet.

what we like

  • Tactec System compatible
  • Slim design
  • Very durable

what we dislike

  • There’s little info about this product
  • There’s no pocket between the money clip and the card slots

Tactical Wallet’s Buying Guide

Tactical WalletsAre tactical wallets a men-only accessory? Well, my guess is that they are not, because more and more girls are looking for the ultimate outdoor experience, so I think the models reviewed above are more or less unisex.

Identity Theft Protection

I, personally think that the RFID blocking function, that some of the above models feature, is the most important feature to look for in a tactical wallet.

In the developed countries, there are scheming con artists who can easily swipe a device over the pocket of your jeans where your wallet rests and steal all of your cards’ details in an instant. And that’s something you definitely want some protection against!

Capacity

I am not so sure, however, if the ability to hold a large number of credit or debit cards makes a particular model stand out against the rest in its class. I personally think that going for one that holds up to five bank cards is reasonable enough.

Durability

Tactical WalletsWhen buying a tactical wallet, you should also make sure it is really sturdy and durable. This is hard to check if you are buying the product online.

There are so many contradicting opinions out there – some may say the wallet started falling apart just a few months after the purchase.

Yet, when you buy a tactical wallet from the same manufacturer you may be surprised by its resilience and longevity.

That’s because some batches of products come in better quality than other lots by the same manufacturer. Ideally, this should never happen, but practically it does happen every once in a while.

Multi-tools and Blades

About the multi-tool. For me, this is not something essential for your tactical wallet. When you buy a model with a multi-tool, you are hardly likely to put all of its functions to the test.

Besides, tactical wallets with blades and multi-tools can be a pain in the neck during airport security checks.

PricePricing

Finally, there is the money issue. You certainly do not want a model that will put your monthly budget on a strain. Rather, you should shop wisely and seek a reasonable balance between price and quality.

Dango’s products typically stand at the higher end of the price range, but there is a wide choice of more affordable models. Just take your time and look for the right one for you!

Dango Is The Clear Winner

If we have a look at the above summary of the best tactical wallets of 2019, we can see that three out of the seven reviewed models are by Dango.

Further, This manufacture is clearly leading the market in terms of the number of tactical wallets. Additionally, it clearly offers a large number of features per tactical wallet.

It may be surprising to many users to find out that this manufacturer is rather young. Dango started making tactical wallets about four years ago, but the company has already established itself as the market leader in the heavy-duty men’s accessories niche.
